2016 NDHSAA/Farmer Union Insurance Distinguished Student Finalists Announced

The NDHSAA has announced its 2016 finalists for the distinguished student award program.  The program looks for outstanding students that participate in NDHSAA sponsored events.  The criteria is based on participation, community and school service, a recommendation from the school and an essay on how participation has benifited each individual.  Sixty one local winners were forwarded on for consideration of this award.  Six finalist were selected and they include: Justin Olien - West Fargo Sheyenne, Martin Altenburg - Fargo North, Mya Steinwehr - Hankinson, Kailer Riedman - May-Port CG, Alyx Schmitz - Oakes and Brooke Schulte - Bismarck Century.  All finalist are guarnateed a $500 scholarship to the school of their choice.  Interview are set for May 4, followed by an awards ceremony to crown this years distinguished student winner.
