Carson Wentz Puts Together Solid Start On Monday Night Football

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Former Bismarck Century football standout Carson Wentz followed up his stellar debut as a starting quarterback in National Football League with a quality performance on the road while a national television audience watched.

Wentz was 21 of 34 passing for 190 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a 29-14 win against the Chicago Bears on ESPN's Monday Night Football.

The 2011 Century graduate hasn’t thrown an interception in two pro starts and his early success is starting to grab national attention.

Wentz was the topic of conversation between Vice President Joe Biden (a Philadelphia Eagles fan) and President Barack Obama (a Chicago Bears fan) this past week.

The No. 1 selling jersey in the NFL this past week was Wentz’s No. 11 Eagles jersey.

Following the win against the Bears, Wentz joined ESPN SportsCenter host Scott Van Pelt for a postgame interview.

Wentz was drafted No. 2 overall by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft in April following a standout career at North Dakota State. Wentz was injured part of the preseason was thrust into the starting job when the team traded Sam Bradford to the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 3.

Wentz earned All-State honors as a senior quarterback for the Patriots in 2010.
