STATE BOYS SOCCER TOURNAMENT FIELD SET
The 2013 NDHSAA Boys’ State Tournament Tournament field has been set following the cancellation of the Western Dakota Association’s (WDA) conference tournament over the weekend due to poor weather conditions in Mandan. Jamestown High School will host this year’s eight-team event that runs Thursday through Saturday.
The WDA regular season champion Bismarck Demons (11-1-4) will play in the tournament’s opening match at 1:00 pm vs. Fargo South (5-9-3). The Bruins qualified as the #4 seed from the East region due to a better goal differential head-to-head vs. rival Fargo North. The Demons defeated the Bruins 3-0 in Bismarck back in August.
West Fargo (12-4-2) will face Bismarck St. Mary’s (9-4-3) in the tournament’s second match at approximately 3:00 pm. The Packers defeated the Saints 4-1 back in September during the West Fargo Invitational Tournament.
Eastern Dakota Conference regular season champion Shanley (13-2-2) will face West region #4 seed Minot (7-3-5) at 5:00 pm. The Deacons and Magicians played to a scoreless draw during the West Fargo Tournament last month.
Two time-defending state champion Bismarck Century (10-2-4) will take on Fargo Davies (6-6-5) in Thursday’s nightcap at approximately 7:00 pm. The Patriots and Eagles also had a scoreless draw early in the season during the Jamestown Crossover.
